Oh, the excitement when you find out a friend is expecting an itty bitty baby…eeeeeeeee! This book, Mama Built A Little Nest, is one of our favorites. It’s a great book to add to your collection or to give to an expecting mama. I remember those days of “nesting”… I’d go into the baby’s room and flip through the baby books, refold all the onesies, and dream about my little bundle of joy. The words in this story are beautiful, rhythmic, and they roll right off your tongue–which is great when you’re operating on no sleep. There are also facts on each page about the birds illustrated in the story. Now that Axel is two we love reading the story and reading the interesting facts they include.
Another thing I love giving to expecting mamas are newborn sized long sleeve onesies (with the wrap over mittens). Someone gave me one of these onesies when I was first pregnant and I remember holding it up and seeing how TINY it was. That’s when it first hit me–I’m carrying a tiny, intricate miracle. There are tons of cute baby clothes, but white onesies are practical and you can never seem to have enough. Roll them up, tie them with some ribbon, and they make a sweet little gift!
Just bought pink pants at my favorite boutique in The Haag. I didn’t think to wear them with a black top but I certainly plan to now!!?
You’ll have to send me a picture of your pink pants! I bet you have some great shopping by you!
